During the private beta, VIA is free for every participant, whatever the size of the estate (above 100 VMs per vCenter, with a free beta license requested in the portal). The grid below is the model planned for version 1.0: free up to 100 VMs per vCenter, fully unlocked, with no license file needed; above that, five volume tiers, with the same features at every tier. Pricing to be disclosed at commercial launch.
One product, tiers by volume.
The VM count is the “Virtual Machines” figure of your vCenter summary: every VM it lists, powered-off ones included, templates excluded, never a subset. No feature is reserved for a specific tier: tiers reflect the size of your fleet, not a product edition.
A lab or a very small deployment?
Up to 100 VMs per vCenter, VIA is free and fully unlocked, with no license file needed, in production and in the lab. The count is made across the whole vCenter: a lab vCenter with 100 VMs or fewer lets you validate the product for free before you deploy at scale. For a lab larger than 100 VMs, contact us for a validation license.
