Probable ownership and usage
Who owns this VM, what does it do? In most estates, no one knows anymore. VIA reconstructs the probable ownership and usage of each machine from the estate's own signals. Traced hints, not certainties, so you know what you have before you decide.
Archetype classification
VIA classifies each VM by archetype: database, web server, domain controller, appliance, sandbox, forgotten machine. A raw inventory becomes a plan where you see what to group and where to start. Descriptive and neutral, no destination recommended.
Discrepancies flagged, not hidden
When two sources contradict each other, VIA shows it instead of choosing silently. If what VMware Tools reports doesn't match what the machine actually shows, the gap is flagged. That is rigor, made visible.

Score 0-100 per VM across 200+ rules. SIMPLE / MODERATE / COMPLEX / INTENSIVE band. Effort estimate per finding. Defensible line by line.
Dependency groups
VIA groups VMs from several converging signals: active connections, naming, resource pool, folder and vApp. The more signals agree, the higher the group's confidence. A starting point you refine with your application owners.
Explicit considerations
Each consideration references its source (official docs or lab validation) where one exists; assumed findings are explicitly marked. Estimated effort and corrective action per finding.
